Seen or Unseen

About Me

"To every age its art. To every art its freedom." Gustav Klimt

Forbidden words, forbidden poems, forbidden lines, forbidden art, forbidden artists! what is the boundary between forbidden and non-forbidden, what is the boundary between seen and unseen? Things that we can not see might hold the answers to our questions.”

  • Nour was born and raised in Esfahan, Iran. She began using ink and bamboo pen when she was six years old to write Persian poems. She lost herself in their magic meanings. Later she discovered a new drive, to use powerful nude photos of herself and embellish them over and over with calligraphic fragments of poems - creating mysterious transcendent veils - as a medium of discovery full of words, sensuality and layers of meaning. The journey of the mind cannot be limited. Her aim is to challenge and overcome the rules of restriction and cultural repression through a poetic approach.

  • Poetography is a new visual art form that merges poetry and photography in order to affect ones senses or emotions. The goal of this melding is to further enhance the aesthetic quality of both arts. By combining photographic imagery with poetry the artist has an opportunity to better represent creativity as well as further enhancing the human experience with the final art.
